Karli's class (when she was NOT there) had an accident last week. A City bus ran a red light and crashed into the suburban with 5 children in the back. One little boy had something hit his head and penetrate his skull to his brain. He has been in and out of ICU and sustained extensive head injuries. They had to remove a portion of his brain to remove the fragments. The swelling has gone down, and they have removed the tubes from his brain. He has spoken and asked for things. This family has a long road ahead of them, and just want to get out of the hospital to keep infection away.
This accident has taken a toll on me in such a strong way. Karli wasn't there, but these are her friends. My heart goes out to this family and to her teacher. They are all in my constant thoughts right now. It hit home... hug those babies every day, we have no idea what the future holds.
On a bit of a lighter note, when I told Karli that Ms. Jami was in an accident she said "Oh, did she go potty in her pants?" Oh the innocence of a child!

WOW...so close to home when things like this happen. Having a child makes my heart break for these people who I don't even know. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
